The annual STEM CAMP at MacDill AFB was a HUGE success! Thank you to all of our volunteers who made camp another fantastic and hands-on learning experience for everyone!

Annual STEM Camps and Engineering Camps are funded by the Tampa Bay Post's annual Golf Fundraiser and Clay Shoot Fundraiser. SAME Engineering Camps for High School Students

Attending SAME National Engineering camps is a great way to develop new engineering and leadership skills and qualify for college scholarships.

Each year, the Tampa Bay Post sends three local high school students to SAME Engineering Camps. The Tampa Bay Post presents three scholarships consisting of camp registration fees and a travel contributions of $270 per camper towards the cost of travel for attending the camp for the top three applicants selected by the Post leaders.

Camp eligibility requirements apply, but generally speaking, applicants must be rising sophomores, juniors or seniors in high school to attend the camps.  Applications must be submitted to SAME National Headquarters on or before the submission deadline.

If an eligible applicant is not selected to receive one of the three scholarships provided by the Tampa Bay Post, they may still have the opportunity to attend the engineering camp by paying their own fees and travel costs. Also, if a camp is filled up, eligible students may request that SAME National include them on a waiting list in case a slot at camp becomes available. 

Important Dates:

SAME National headquarters receives applications, reviews eligibility  and ranks applicants before sending these onward to the Tampa Bay Post for final selection. Beginning in 2027, the Tampa Bay Post will give first preference for selection to students residing in the local counties surrounding the Tampa Bay Region ( Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Manatee, Hernando, Citrus, Sumter, Citrus, Sarasota, Hardee and DeSoto Counties). The SAME Tampa Bay Post scholarship committee will make the selection from among applications received from SAME National headquarters. Students selected will be notified in writing from the Post.
